Drawing Things at Night

It isn’t easy to draw things in the dark. One illustrator, Mark Buehner (pronounced Beener), does a beautiful job of it. I love his artwork. Here are books he illustrated with a lot of nighttime pictures in them:

My Monster Mama Loves Me So

Snowmen at Night

Fanny’s Dream

What if you combined nighttime with living underground — in the subway. That’s double darkness. My other favorite story about night is

There are also many interesting books about dreams, and picture books with dream themes in them, for instance...

Sweet Dream Pie, Moon Ball, Dinosaur Dreams, Cowboy Dreams, Sweet Dreams, The Dream House, Applelmando’s Dream. Look for these, too.

Found some other nighttime books you like a lot?
Let me know about them.
